Oh my god this is such a terrible show /o\ Awesome Flatmate K and I started watching it last year, because of (a) Peter Capaldi being a moustache-twirling, cape-swirling villain, and (b) the extreme hotness of the entire cast. Seriously, all 4 Musketeers and all 3 leading ladies are RIDICULOUSLY HOT and it's not fair that they're all in such an awful show. In our defence, at least Season 1 fell squarely into the category of 'wacky fun' (with obligatory angst and an actual literal Bucket o'Manpain, but still). Season 2 decided that it needed to be Dark and Gritty and basically more Adult, and correspondingly lost a lot of its charm. But like FOOLS we kept watching, despite the abysmal dialogue, the plots which somehow managed to be simultaneously completely predictable and utterly incoherent, and the increasingly skeevy violence. BECAUSE EVERYONE WAS REALLY HOT, OK.

....and then we found we'd watched all of Season 2. And then Flatmate K was listening to this song (inexplicably, on an Agent Carter fanmix) and I realised it needed to be an Athos/Milady vid. I DIDN'T WANT TO BE THE ONE TO MAKE IT. But I trawled youtube and youtube did not provide so...suddenly I found myself making this, with the maliciously gleeful encouragement of Flatmate K, who I very much blame for everything. In my defence, it has proved to be a nice break from the Twelve And Clara Vid Of My Heart which I've been "making" (read: adding about one clip per week to the timeline) for at least 2 months now. But actually that's not really a defence, because I've spent an entire week on this piece of ridiculousness and I still have a Vidukon auction vid to make and a premiere to finish and a vidshow to put together and oh no this was a terrible idea what have I done /o\

Great to see this -- I like the way you used all the flower references to thread their story together. This ship ought to have a ton of fanworks for it given the angsty enemy pairing it is.

:-D Thank you! I really enjoyed finding all the forget-me-nots and putting them in...and yeah this is such a gloriously angsty pairing I'm surprised there isn't a lot more going on for it. It was the smouldering looks in the last couple of episodes, and my flatmate yelling 'HATESEX!!!' at the screen that made me cave and make this.

I feel for you when it comes to watching series two. (What happened, show of my heart? What. Happened.) But I am SUPER DELIGHTED YOU GAVE IN AND MADE THE VID. *excited dolphin noises*

LOVE the song choice. It's great for their often violent, often chaotic, often extremely ill advised relationship, which you've portrayed so excellently in your editing.

:-D Thank youuuu! <3 That is very vindicating (which is not to say I am not still filled with shame, but I am delighted this has brought one or two people joy!) It was a really fun song to edit to, and I'm really glad you enjoyed it.

And yes, Season 2, what went wrong?? I rewatched a few S1 eps when making clips, and it was so SILLY and lighthearted and full of shenanigans. Then S2 happened and women were being brutalised left-right-and-centre and people were making even more terrible decisions than usual, and literally every other plot hinged on someone being kidnapped. I hope they resolve these issues for S3. Which I will doubtless be watching.

And on top of all the damsel in distressing, they made both Aramis and d'Artagnan (that one was from left field) suuuuuuper dicks. I'll just be over here, forever bitter. But Athos really grew on me out of nowhere in S2 and so did Milady, and Porthos and Constance were still their lovely charming selves for the most part. So anyway, tl;dr, come on S3, pull it together.

OMG yes Aramis and d'Artagnan!! Can't believe I forgot that. That was a MAJOR part of S2's issues...what was up with d'Artagnan being such a dick to Constance all of a sudden?! And ugh Aramis....I think 3 women have now died as a direct result of his behaviour? And yes 2 were last season, but he found out about Adele at the start of this season and it didn't affect his behaviour one bit. >:(

Constance and Porthos and the Queen are all completely delightful, however <3
