4.5k words of random flail and parallels as opposed to much Meta and Analysis - miirrors the way I reacted to RTD-era stories rather than Moffat-era stories. And I'd thought that it was my way of watching the show that had changed, but perhaps not? Oh I'm the same. My post will be pretty much pure character stuff & continuity. (Again, RTD approach. Which is fine. I have Dracula as new meta material once I have... TIME.)

You are right, it can work well for Thirteen :D Fic could ONLY work with her. Do I wish she were less messed up and had learned some lessons? Sure. Am I thrilled because these episodes confirmed my characterisation? Even more yes.

ETA: Thirteen has a lot of Eleven's unselfconscious oddness, but for some reason she feels, to me, most like Ten out of all the previous (New Who) Doctors, so I guess this is just a place Chibnall feels comfortable? Meant to comment that I agree with this. Am still poking at it, but Thirteen's issues seem to work the same way Ten's did, even if they're different. That's the best way I can describe it. Like they're hiding from themselves? Or lying to themselves? IDK, there is something at the tip of my tongue that I need to figure out.
