YES I almost got a Utopia/Sound of Drums experience here, except I'd seen just enough of a spoiler in passing that to begin with I convinced myself that Lenny Henry must be the Master...
I really thought we were going to do more with the connection between the aliens and the technology - like how the doctor described their world as being like 'neurons', and the set design of their realm evoked fibre optic cables... I really wanted them to be a sentient internet! But no it was just something incoherent about DNA hard drives. Maybe this would have made sense if the story wasn't so massively Full Of Stuff and they had to cut so much for time??
I had a lot of FEELINGS after finally catching up with these episodes, and coming back to this post was precisely what I needed, thank you for writing it ^_^
