Galaxy Questivid

Festivids reveal time! This year I received a completely delightful vid for the TV series of the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, by
gwenfrankenstien set to Janelle Monae :-D It brought happiness to my soul. Arthur Dent is absolutely NOT afraid to freak out! You should all go and watch it and smile.
Meanwhile, I made a vid for Galaxy Quest! I almost didn't make my assignment this year - what with 2016 being so fucking BADLY WRITTEN, I had kind of run out of steam by the time Festivids rolled around, and I came *this close* to defaulting, for the first time ever. I had no ideas for any of the fandoms on my recipient's list and no energy to do anything about it. Then, about two days before the check-in deadline, this struck me out of the blue, and I thought, would it make people really sad if I made a vid about Alan Rickman set to David Bowie? And I thought, yes it probably would, but then I did it anyway. Karma punished me by sending me the worst technical difficulties I've had so far in my five years as a vidder /o\ Still, I'm glad I made this. Rediscovering the greatness of this film was a joy, and - technical difficulties aside - I ended up having a lot of fun. I was worried that this vid ended up being very linear (always my problem when vidding films), but then Awesome Flatmate L reminded me that Under Pressure,
violace's wonderful vid for The Martian, is also very linear and is still completely perfect. So that was reassuring. Anyway, what with the linearity, the flaily montage of everyone falling over, and the ridiculously literal clip-matches, apparently this is visible from space as one of my vids :-P
By Grabthar's hammer...what a savings. This truly is one of the best Star Trek films ever made.
Thank you to
usuallyhats and
cosmic_llin for beta help!

Didn't know what time it was the lights were low
I leaned back on my radio
Some cat was layin' down some rock 'n' roll 'lotta soul,
He said
Then the loud sound did seem to fade
Came back like a slow voice on a wave of phase
That weren't no D.J. that was hazy cosmic jive
[Chorus:]
There's a starman waiting in the sky
He'd like to come and meet us
But he thinks he'd blow our minds
There's a starman waiting in the sky
He's told us not to blow it
'Cause he knows it's all worthwhile
He told me:
Let the children lose it
Let the children use it
Let all the children boogie
I had to phone someone so I picked on you
Hey, that's far out so you heard him too!
Switch on the TV
We may pick him up on channel two
Look out your window I can see his light
If we can sparkle he may land tonight
Don't tell your poppa or he'll get us locked up in fright
[Chorus 2x]
