ETA 07/09/14 Now remastered and shiny! Links below are updated. The remastering process was tricker than I thought it would be (having never done this before) - mostly due to the cam footage scenes being inexplicably several frames longer than the DVD ripped scenes. Which meant I had to do some unexpected clip tweaking, to make the same clips fit in the same slots. Also, a couple of clips turned out to be way less awesome once you could actually *see* what was going on…! Notably, a clip that I thought showed an explosion, but turned out to just be a particularly blurry scene change…oops. That one got swapped out. Newly remastered vid also contains bonus!Maria Hill and bonus!Natasha, now that the full width of the screen can be seen. :-)

notes: It's that most wonderful time of year again - such_heights's BIRTHDAY! ♥ She is the bestest of friends and the awesomest of flatmates (along with K & happydork, my other two flatmates, of course) and so I made her this ridiculous little vid about Sam and Steve to celebrate. They are adorable and great, and so is she.


This was made as a Steve/Sam vid, but it could also be a Steve + Sam vid if you like. Though I should point out that Nick Fury and Maria Hill and Natasha totally ship them, and they know what's what. (For the record, I also ship Steve/Natasha, Steve/Peggy and Steve/Bucky, as well as Steve/All The Avengers. such_heights and I made a mind-map of all our MCU ships once. It resembled a web woven by a really drunk spider.)

Anyway, I maaaay remaster this when the DVD comes out in August. We'll see how industrious I'm feeling. Vidding with cam footage is HARD! This is my first time making an entire vid with rubbish quality source, and I'm full of admiration for people who do this often. I spent a lot of time squinting bemusedly at the screen, trying to work out where the beats should fall, and cursing the blurry scene changes.

( Oh, and I'm sorry* for the first 30 seconds. I know it's crack. I know. But I couldn't resist! The song choice is entirely due to its use in The Losers. such_heights loves that film, and whilst I am mostly indifferent towards it, that particular scene is just amazing and was too hilarious not to use. One day I kind of hope someone does a proper mash-up of the two films, and improves upon this rather half-arsed attempt.)

Damn. :-P (I seriously contemplated bookending this with a pair of Losers clips - at the end of the vid I was going to have that bit from the end of the 'Don't Stop Believing' scene, where he talks about being a 'secret government experiment'...but decided that was one crack too far. Hence why someone else needs to make a proper crossover)

This is wonderful. I am so impressed with what you managed to do with cam footage -- I've frame-by-framed parts of a cam of this movie (possibly the same cam; this distortion looks familiar) looking for set details and stuff, and damned if I could've figured out where to put the beats in that mess. So, props for defeating that godawful technical challenge with tremendous grace and musicality, AND ALSO for creating something that made me laugh with delight and then cover my face in embarrassment at the depths of my own feelings about this ship.

That scene in The Losers is amaaaaazing. Chris Evans gets to have a lot of fun in that film. I'm not a huge fan of the film as a whole (not really big on action movies generally) but there are some great moments in it.
